Rachiine Mills Trail kickstarts today!
Activism pays! Rachiine Mills' Trail landscape works have started today.
Deriving from the "Rethinking Zgharta" workshop that was organized and curated by platau in June 2016, the project was developed a step further during 2017; proposing to rehabilitate a historic network of canals connecting 15th century watermills that flourished around the Rachiine River, which later attracted the founding and growth of agglomerations like Zgharta, Kfardlaqous,and Rachiine in the 16th century.
After almost a year of activism and fund-raising efforts by platau and Zgharta Ghadouna; the project was adopted by Rachiine Municipality and funded by Toufic Mouawad Initiative.
