Project Description
The project is a garden for a residential neighborhood, and needed to accomodate multifunctional passive areas and playground, in addition to a topographic change between beginning and end. After conducting a questionnaire with the residents to determine the garden uses and audience, our intervention used a faceted formal language to define a multifunctional upper area made of platforms and softscape, in which activities such barbecues, benches, picnics, reading and walking could take place. The topographic drop leads to a lower active area, allowing structures such as slides, swings and a soft field to allow structured and unstructured uses. Each stripe is separated from the adjacent one with a thin lifeline that embeds lighting, irrigation, and sometimes widens up to become a program element: a platform, a tree planter, a swing, a bench...
